root serversof the internet. These refer to the responsible servers of the respective domain extension (for example, the registry for.comor.de). - The authorization: The server of the domain extension finally refers the resolver to the specific
authoritative nameserverof the domain. This server—which we manage for you as your corporate provider—holds the exact, official routing entries (the so-calledDNS records). - The connection: The
authoritative nameserverreturns the correctIP addressto the resolver and thus back to the browser. Only then can the browser establish the connection to the target server and load the website.
