STACKIT Domain Services API and support integration

Abschnitt betitelt „STACKIT Domain Services API and support integration“

We are happy to announce a major milestone: the STACKIT Domain Services API is now live. You can also create support tickets directly within the portal and track domain lifecycles with transparent statuses.

Automate infrastructure with the REST API

You can now automate your domain and DNS management to integrate directly into your CI/CD pipelines or internal tools.

      • Domain automation: Check availability, verify inventory, and trigger real-time orders.
      • DNS power management: Control primary and secondary zones, and manage all resource records.
      • Enterprise security: Protect critical records using the locking function.
      • Forwarding-as-a-Service: Set up web and mail redirects programmatically.
      • Primary data sync: Manage contact handles and nameserver sets centrally.

Create support tickets in the portal

You can now create support tickets directly from the UI. Click the Question mark icon next to your organization and select Support-Ticket erstellen to report issues or submit service requests.

      Track transparent domain statuses

We revised our status system to provide full transparency over your domain’s lifecycle. The portal now displays specific statuses such as active, expired, registration failed, registration pending, terminated, transfer in progress, and backorder.

    • announcement

You can now order multiple domains in a single step using the Domain bestellen button.

      Order domains in bulk

The portal provides two methods to search for and select multiple domains at once:

      • Manual input: Enter domains separated by commas, spaces, or line breaks.
      • File import: Upload a .txt file containing one domain name per line.

Once you add the available domains, you can apply contact details, nameserver sets, and DNS zone configurations universally across your entire batch. The system processes real-time supported domains immediately and forwards premium or manual orders to our support team.

    • announcement

You can now lock specific DNS records in the portal.

      Lock resource records

Use the Lock Record option in the three-dot menu next to a resource record to prevent accidental changes. Once a record is locked, only users with the Product Admin or Organization Admin role can unlock and edit it.

    • feature

This release introduces new security features and improves compliance for DNS configurations.

      View the AdultBlock product

The portal now displays the AdultBlock product. You can contact support at domainservices@stackit.cloud to activate this service and protect your brand.

      Apply RFC-compliant DNS validations

We updated our validation logic to ensure your configurations are robust:

      • TXT records: Validations now meet strict RFC standards for higher compatibility.
      • Web redirects: Source paths are now case-sensitive, ensuring correct routing to platforms like YouTube.
    • announcement

You can now use nameserver sets to manage your DNS configurations more efficiently.

      Configure nameserver sets

Create templates for your hostnames to apply consistent DNS settings across multiple domains.

      Use advanced resource records

      • Wildcard records: You can now add wildcard records to simplify the management of subdomains.
      • TXT records: We enlarged the input field for TXT records to make handling long contents, such as DKIM keys, easier.

      Edit access groups

You can now edit the name and description of existing access groups. The system also correctly displays locked records required for redirects.

    • announcement

We optimized the DNS management features and the portal search logic.

      Edit DNS zones in bulk

You can now edit multiple DNS zones at the same time. This feature saves time when applying mass changes, such as updating A-records during a server migration. You can also create multiple secondary zones in a single step.

      Use the optimized search logic

The portal search now supports advanced filtering:

      • Enclose a product in quotation marks (" ") to filter exactly that product.
      • Use "$" to exclude domains containing a specific string.
      • Search for multiple products simultaneously by separating terms with spaces or commas (e.g., copying a column from a CSV file).

      Benefit from Low-Level-Editor improvements

The Low-Level-Editor no longer removes trailing points automatically, which improves compatibility. You can also enter TXT record contents without quotation marks.

    • announcement

We introduced dedicated management sections and access control capabilities.

Manage routing in the DNS menu

You can now create and edit zones, records, web redirects, and mail redirects under the new DNS menu item.

      Configure access groups

Use access groups to establish granular permissions for more control and security over your entire portfolio. You can assign access groups and cost centers to multiple domains simultaneously on the domain overview page to save time.

      Improve your domain search

The search function now supports domains with umlauts. You can also view both Unicode and Punycode formats in the domain details.

    • announcement

We enhanced the search functionalities across the portal for a smoother user experience.

      Search cost centers

You can now search for cost centers conveniently during the domain order process and within the domain overview. Simply type a value into the field, and the dropdown displays matching results.

      Filter products with multiple terms

The product overview now supports entering multiple search terms simultaneously. For example, you can filter the domain list by entering several domain names separated by spaces.

    • announcement

This release brings several quality-of-life improvements to the portal interface.

      Identify your products

Domains you already own now display an assigned status in the domain search, instead of the generic not available status. This allows you to instantly recognize domains assigned to you.

      Add notes to products

You can now add individual remarks using the new notes field available for all products. These notes are searchable and simplify the management of your portfolio.

      Read role descriptions

The user overview now displays a short description for each role, making it easier to select the correct role during assignment.

      Benefit from full-text search fixes

We resolved an issue where clicking the “X” symbol did not clear the search term from the input field. The search now resets completely.

    • feature

We expanded the STACKIT Domain Portal into a comprehensive digital identity suite.

      Manage new products

The following products are now available for viewing:

      • Mailbox
      • Relay
      • DPML
      • TMCH

      Use the new permission structure

We introduced a new role-based access control system featuring roles like Organization Admin, Organization Manager, Product Admin, Product Editor and Product User.

We also integrated a new approval process. Users can request products based on their role, and authorized administrators can approve or reject these requests. You can view the history of rejected requests and cancel your own requests directly in the portal.
