Search and order domains

You can search for and order an unlimited number of domains directly within the Domain Portal. The system checks the availability and allows you to register the domain and add optional services like Trustee or ICP services.

Search for domains

You start the registration process by checking the availability of your desired domain names.

1. Open the STACKIT Domain Portal
2. Select Domains from the side menu and click the Order domain button.
3. In the Domain search step, enter your desired domain name in the Enter domain name field.
4. Click Search.
5. In the Result section, click + Add next to your available domain to add it to your order.

Complete the order

Once you select your domains, you must configure the technical and administrative parameters using the order steps on the left side. The system requires a valid contact handle and a nameserver set for the order.

1. Go to the Contact details step and select an existing contact handle or create a new one to assign the Owner, Admin, and Tech roles.
2. Go to the Nameserver step and select a nameserver set for your domain.
3. (Optional) Go to the Create DNS zone step and enable the toggle to automatically create a primary DNS zone with an initial set of resource records.
4. (Optional) Go to the Services step and enable the Trustee service or ICP service if they are required and available for your selected top-level domain.
5. Review the Overview panel on the right side and accept the terms and conditions.
6. Click Order with charge to submit your request.

Order processing

After you submit the request, you receive a confirmation email with a summary of your ordered domains.

The API processes orders as either real-time or manual orders. Domains that support real-time registration become active immediately. For other domains, including premium domains, our support team contacts you to complete the manual registration process.
