Quickstart

This guide shows you the fastest way to establish your digital presence. You will search for an available domain, configure the necessary administrative contacts, and register the address along with a primary DNS zone.

Order your first domain

You must secure your desired web address before you can configure any routing.

1. Open the STACKIT Domain Portal and navigate to your organization.
2. Select Domains from the side menu.
3. Click Order domain.
4. Enter your desired domain name in the search field and click Search.
5. Locate your domain in the Result list and click + Add.

Configure required parameters

Every domain registration requires a contact handle (for administrative roles) and a nameserver set (for DNS routing).

1. Proceed to the Contact details step.
2. Click Create new contact and fill in your personal and organizational information. This handle will act as the Owner, Admin, and Tech contact.
3. Proceed to the Nameserver step.
4. Select the default STACKIT nameserver set from the list.

Provision the DNS zone

You can set up your routing infrastructure automatically during the checkout.

1. Proceed to the Create DNS zone step.
2. Enable the toggle to generate a primary DNS zone automatically.
3. Proceed to the Overview step.
4. Review your costs, accept the terms and conditions, and click Order with charge.

Congratulations! Your domain is now provisioning. Domains that support real-time registration become active immediately. You can track the status in your Domains overview.
